Order pickers
Order pickers are made to handle individual cases or items, while reach trucks and turret trucks are utilized for handling palletized loads. Order pickers are also sometimes referred to as order selectors or stock pickers. The machinery has a platform wherein the operator stands. The order picker lifts the operator along with the forks so that he or she can pick things from the shelves and put them onto a pallet on the forks. The machinery can move forward while in an elevated position. Wire guidance systems are available.
Order Picker
Order pickers are available with certain fork size, travel and lift speeds and weight and reach limitations. Nearly all have a fork size intended to load an average pallet, no more than about 1.5 meters in length. The higher lift and travel speed helps increase efficiency, but training is really required to prevent accidents. Employees should be trained on the particular type of unit they would be using.
Low Lift Pallet Jacks
Non-powered pallet trucks
If you want a less pricey choice then you can utilize non-powered pallet trucks. These simple lift trucks are also known as hand pallet jacks and hand pallet trucks. These trucks use a hydraulic mechanism to be able to lift pallets just several centimeters above the ground. The operator pulls the load utilizing the truck handle.
Electric-powered pallet trucks
Made for easy maneuvering, the electric-powered pallet trucks are reasonably priced. The fork size could hold two or three pallets. These trucks come in two types: the "walkie" type is designed to be operated whilst the operator walks next to it; the "rider" has a platform on which the operator rides in a standing position. These trucks are usually found within warehouses, with operators order picking while moving down the aisles. Both powered and non-powered pallet trucks are categorized as ITA Class 3.
