How to Charge a Scissor Lift
There is a great ease when utilizing a scissor lift, as the ease of working and the lift basket's security gives peace of mind while attempting to carry out tasks that could have otherwise needed utilizing the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machinery make it the best option for performing tasks from heights.
The majority of scissor lifts are powered electrically by batteries which have been mounted directly onto the equipment. These batteries will have to be charged after a long shift or after sitting for extended periods without use. It is an easy task to charge the batteries. This can be done without any particular tools or equipment and requires no heavy labor.
In order to prepare the scissor lift for charging, position the machinery next to an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the big red button situated near the control box or the charger, in the lift basket. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Often, older models would have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.
Next, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be certain you are charging in a place that is well ventilated and afterward plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. So as to avoid accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger can likely occur.
